Where Can I Properly Dispose of My Medications?
There are two types of formal collection options:
- Through law enforcement agencies, or
- At household hazardous waste collection events with law enforcement officials present.
There are also specialty "one-time" collection events, which will be announced as they are scheduled.
Bring old and outdated prescription and over-the-counter medications to the following locations for proper disposal:

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events
SALT LAKE COUNTY
Salt Lake Valley Health Department sponsors household hazardous waste community collection events each year. This year law enforcement officers will be present at the Sandy and Salt Lake City collection events to accept unused medications.
